Fylde Lodge of MMM Sunday Brunch

11th August 2013

Fylde Lodge MMM held a Sunday Brunch on 11th August at the home of Dep PGM Keith Beardmore, with a magnificent turnout of over 110 people including the PGM and his wife Lynne The event was to support the Kevan Beardmore memorial fund, which will assist in refurbishing the lower Lodge Room at Adelaide St Blackpool where Fylde and Bispham with Norbreck Mark Lodges meet.

The weather held out so that most of the event took place in the garden and along with an abundance of food, Buck's Fizz, tea and coffee a magnificent raffle helped bring a total of £1300 raised on the day Two other events, a Strawberry Tea and a Golf Day, in aid of this worthy cause have raised another £500 and Bispham with Norbreck Lodge MMM donated a further £440. Thanks should go to David and Liz Bell, John and Sue Forster and David and Carolyn Jones who all worked extremely hard to assist Keith and June to get the event in place after the venue had to be relocated. The original venue should have been at the Jones's residence at Wrea Green but due to moving house at short notice Dave asked Keith to hold the event.

Six widows of Fylde members were invited to the Brunch and the PGM took great delight in speaking to them all. VW Bro. Kevan was especially remembered on the day as the fund had been established to acknowledge his outstanding contribution to the Mark Degree over many years and his untimely passing last November came as a great loss to the order and Fylde Lodge in particular.
